ShopVision vs Salsify

Salsify manages your product content and syndicates it to retailers. ShopVision watches what the market does with pricing, assortment, marketing, and MAP. Complementary, not competing.

Know your market. Own the moment.

Your content, or your market.

Salsify is a product information management platform. Its job is getting your own product content correct at source and syndicated out across a large retailer network, with shelf monitoring layered on so you can check the content landed. That monitoring is a supporting feature, not the core product, and Salsify does not do competitive price monitoring or MAP enforcement. ShopVision is the other side of the same shelf: what competitors charge, launch, promote, and advertise, plus channel compliance. Teams that care about both usually run both.

These are the questions we hear most often from teams comparing ShopVision and Salsify.

Are ShopVision and Salsify competitors?

Not really. Salsify is a product information management and syndication platform with shelf monitoring attached. ShopVision is market and competitive intelligence. They overlap only on digital shelf monitoring, and even there they answer different questions.

Does Salsify track competitor pricing?

Competitive price monitoring is not what Salsify is built for, and it does not do MAP enforcement. Brands that need both typically pair a PIM with a dedicated competitive intelligence platform.

Does ShopVision replace our PIM?

No. ShopVision does not manage or syndicate your product content. If your problem is getting accurate content to retailers at scale, keep the PIM.

We already have Salsify. What would ShopVision add?

Competitor pricing and promotions, competitor assortment launches and discontinues, competitor advertising and email, and MAP compliance across your reseller network. None of that is in a PIM.

Can we consolidate into one vendor?

Not between these two, and you should be wary of anyone who says otherwise. Content management and competitive intelligence are genuinely different engineering problems. Consolidate within each, not across them.

How does pricing compare?

Salsify is an enterprise annual subscription sold by quote. ShopVision publishes its pricing and sells each of its four products independently, with a free trial on Marketing Intelligence.

Used daily by category leading brands and retailers.
